Terms and disclaimer

What AsOf is

AsOf is an independent record of dated facts about organizations, people in public roles, products and events, compiled from public sources: regulatory filings, official dashboards and announcements, Wikidata and the references it cites, and the web. Every claim links to its sources and carries a status and a confidence score so you can judge it yourself.

Accuracy

We check claims against their sources, re-verify core facts on a schedule and measure the error rate on a random sample every month. Even so, sources can be wrong, out of date or misread, and the record will contain mistakes. A claim marked valid means it met our sourcing rule, not that it is guaranteed true. Check the linked source before you rely on a claim for anything that matters, and send a correction when you find an error.

AI-assisted content

Some claims are extracted from published posts by an AI model, and some are checked by an AI model with web search; the claim's origin and sources show this. In The Brief, the factual lines are drawn from the record, and the "why it matters" and "takeaway" sections are written by an AI model (Claude). They are opinion, kept apart from the record.

Not advice

Nothing on AsOf, including financial figures, The Brief and its takeaways, is investment, financial, legal, tax or other professional advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. Do your own research and consult a qualified professional before making decisions.

No affiliation

AsOf is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any organization it covers or any source it cites, including the SEC, Google, Wikidata or the Wikimedia Foundation, or any AI company. Company, product and service names are used only to identify them and remain the trademarks of their owners.

Using the data

Facts carry no copyright, and you may use the claims freely. Descriptive text written by AsOf is licensed CC BY 4.0: credit AsOf with a link. Text derived from Wikipedia is CC BY-SA and keeps that license. Material on linked source pages belongs to its owners.

The API and MCP server

The REST API and MCP server are free and need no key. Please stay within the published per-minute rate limits, identify your client in the User-Agent header, and do not try to get around the limits or disrupt the service. We may change, limit or withdraw any endpoint at any time, and we offer no uptime guarantee.

No warranty; limitation of liability

AsOf and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, AsOf and its operator are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site, the data, the API or the MCP server.

Corrections and removal requests

If a claim about you or your organization is wrong, send a correction with a source using the form on the About page, or write to [email protected]. Corrections are reviewed by a person, and a claim shown to be wrong is corrected or retracted with the change kept on the record.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
