AsOf

About

AsOf is a temporal fact ledger.

Each entry is one claim: a subject, a fact, the dates it held, the sources that back it and a confidence score. When a fact changes, the old claim is closed and linked to the new one. The record is neutral and open. The Brief is a daily read on what changed in tech and AI, why it matters and what to watch, with a recap of the week every Sunday, kept separate from the record.

unverified: One source so far: shown on the record, not asserted, until a second source or a primary one confirms it.

disputed: Sources disagree: both claims stay on the record, flagged, until a source settles it.

superseded: A later claim replaced it: it keeps its end date and a pointer to the claim that replaced it, and is never deleted.

Glossary

asserted
The record stands behind this value for the day asked: two independent sources agree, or a primary source states it (alone, at confidence 0.7 or more). Everything else stays on the record, labelled.
held, not asserted
On the record but not the answer: one source without a primary, sources that disagree, confidence below the line, or a value marked for review. Kept and labelled until a source settles it.
confidence
How well the sources support the value, from 0 to 1. A single primary source is asserted from 0.7; nothing below 0.5 is asserted; a dead or disagreeing source lowers it.
valid from
The day the value took effect, not the day it was published. A period figure (a year's revenue) is dated at the period's end.
undated
The source gives no date, so the record shows none rather than invent one. An undated claim is never the answer for a date.
sources
Primary: the entity's own filing, feed or site. Secondary: a publisher reporting it. Each claim links every source it has, with the passage that states the value where one was read.
